Request deletion in the app, or email us from your registered address. We remove your account and personal data, keep only the limited records the law requires, and finish within 30 days.
01 How to delete your account
Option A — In the app
- Open Gaga and go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete account.
- Confirm. You'll see a confirmation that your request has been received.
Option B — By email
Send a request to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We may ask a question or two to verify it's really you before we proceed.
02 What gets deleted
- your account and profile information;
- display name and any optional details you added;
- your preferences and settings; and
- data associated with your account that we no longer need to keep.
Live video and audio are not recorded, so there is no stored conversation to delete. Moderation screenshots that show no violation are automatically deleted within 3 days in the ordinary course; screenshots tied to a violation may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
03 What we may retain & why
We delete personal data when you ask, except where we are legally required or permitted to keep limited information. We may retain:
- records needed to comply with legal, tax or regulatory obligations;
- limited safety records — for example, information tied to a report, ban or investigation — to keep the community safe and prevent banned users from returning; and
- information necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms.
Retained data is kept only for as long as necessary and is then deleted or anonymised. See our Privacy Policy for details.
04 How long it takes
We action verified deletion requests promptly and typically complete them within 30 days. Backups are cycled out on a rolling basis shortly afterward. Deletion is permanent — once complete, your account cannot be recovered.
05 Before you go
If your concern is a specific person or interaction, you don't have to leave — you can block and leave any conversation instantly, and report behaviour that breaks our Community Guidelines. If you've purchased Virtual Items, any remaining balance is generally forfeited on deletion except where the law requires otherwise.
